Worship Leader Music Director
OVERVIEW
New Hope is looking for a worship leader who is musically gifted, biblically grounded Christ follower. Our worship leader provides leadership to worship ministries under the direction of our Lead Pastor.
New Hope is a growing church focused on the Bible’s life-changing message about Jesus. We are a Christian church that welcomes people from all religious backgrounds. We are committed to helping people connect with God and others, by pointing them to Jesus Christ through worship, real relationships, practical teaching and active service in our community.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Part-time Worship Leader: The primary responsibilities of the worship leader will be to lead a blended worship service and cultivate the praise band. This person is directly accountable to the pastor. The candidate will possess an adaptable skill set and leadership capabilities, which will create space for meaningful, Christ-centered worship and leading people to worship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan weekly and special worship services for the congregation; evaluate new music for the church.
• Lead the musical portion of worship services; coordinate songs and schedules using www.planningcenter.com
• Identify, recruit and integrate new members into the praise team.
• Shepherd, train, manage, and care for the volunteer worship teams.
• Work with pastor to develop a worship ministry budget and work within that budget.
• Explore non-musical worship experiences for the church body.
• Oversee the church’s tech ministry and livestream.
• Attend periodic church staff meetings.
• Oversee maintenance of musical equipment owned by the church.
REQUIREMENTS
• Maintains a lifestyle that demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Affirming of New Hope’s statement of faith.
• Demonstrates necessary skills as a vocalist and instrumentalist.
• Possesses broad knowledge of Christian worship music across multiple styles and tastes.
• Experienced leading and managing teams.
